MathJax

This blog will use a JavaScript library called MathJax. With MathJax, specifically-formatted plain text will be turned into mathematical symbols and variables to make it easier to understand the material presented.

This roughly reads as "there exists a variable x, where x is in the set V, such that x is less than 10": $$\exists x \{x \in V : x \lt 10 \}$$

Here's an example of summation notation: $$\left( \sum_{x_1+x_2+x_3=k}^n x_1^a x_2^b x_3^c \right)$$

I'm not even going to try and say what that previous line means. I'm just glad I'm smart enough to understand how that works.

Here's a simple formula of the $$y = mx + b$$ format: $$f\left(x\right) = \frac{1}{2}x+5$$

And lastly, here's a couple formulas very important to discrete math. The equation for a combination is \( \frac{n!}{k!(n-k)!} \) which is represented as \[ \binom{n}{k} \]

Get MathJax here.
